MEETING
February 5, 2019
MINUTES

Attendance: Jim Newman, Gary Haley, Simon Bolin, Randhi Belain, Gary Robinson, Sheriff Ogden, Jeffrey Madison (Town Administrator)

At 4:30 p.m. the meeting was called to order by Chairperson Gary Haley

Dukes County Sheriff
(Agree to place article on Annual Meeting Warrant)
The Board had a discussion with the Sheriff regarding assessments to the Town to fund expenses related to the County’s share a State grant received for operation of the Communications Center. Jim indicated that he supported the Sheriff’s request of $22,778.10 for this year’s operational costs. Jim made a motion to place the request on the Annual Meeting Warrant. Gary seconded the motion and both voted in favor.

Storm Conditions Operating Guidelines
(Adopted as Proposed)
Gary Robinson, Emergency Director along with Chief Bolin presented guidelines for use of the revolving fund of $10K that the Town Appropriated to pay EMT’s and other professionals during a storm emergency. Chief Belain reported that there were approximately 5 elderly persons that he checks on during each stormy period. Gary Robinson reported that there were 22 folks who attended the most recent meeting of the Emergency Planning Committee. Jim made a motion to accept the Committees Proposal. Gary seconded and they both voted in favor.

PARC Grant Review
(Authorized submission)
The Selectmen discussed and gave approval to a grant as submitted to Parkland Acquisitions and Renovations for Communities (PARC). The grant will be used to fund improvements, including handicap access, at the lookout area at the Cliffs.

Correspondence
(Kathie Olsen consultant approved
Fire Chief commended)
Selectmen discussed a proposal to allow Kathi Olsen to be hired to compile figures related to Town energy usage. They unanimously approved the hire.

Selectmen unanimously voted to commend the Fire Chief on his response during a recent incident.

Meeting was adjourned at 5:25 p.m.
