MINUTES

Attendance: Juli Vanderhoop, Gary Haley, Simon Bolin, Gordon Perry, Jay Smalley, Paul Manning, Jeffrey Madison (Town Administrator)

At 8:30 a,m. the meeting was called to order by Chairperson Gary Haley

Review of minutes was deferred

Letter to Tribe
(Approved sending notice of MVC Referral)
Selectmen discussed and voted to send a letter to the Tribe giving them notice that the Town had referred their proposed Casino development to the Martha’s Vineyard Commission as a Development of Regional Impact. The vote to send the letter was unanimous.

ATV Bids
(Approved sale to Frank Perez)
Selectmen reviewed three bids submitted for purchase of the Town’s All Terrain Vehicle and trailer formerly used by the police department. Bids were received from Frank Perez ($1000.00), Stutler Construction ($$656.00) and Rothwell ($725.00). The Board unanimously voted to accept the bid submitted by Frank Perez.

Guardrail Bid
(Vote to take bid of Bartlett Construction under advisement)
Two bids to install pedestrian guardrail at Aquinnah Circle were received. The bids were from Premier Fence and Bartlett Construction. Premier Fence bid was $47,880.00 and Bartlett Construction bid $43,330.00. The Board unanimously voted to take the bid of Bartlett Construction under advisement.

Executive Session
(Vote to enter executive session and reconvene in open session)
Selectmen voted to enter executive session for a brief discussion of legal matters related to potential legal action and reconvene in open session.

Meeting was reconvened at 9:01 a.m.

Meet with County Manager
(Voted to support rental of space at 29 Breakdown Lane)
Martina Thornton presented a proposal that the County Commissioners be allowed to rent space at 29 Breakdown Lane in Vineyard Haven to the Island Integrated Health Collaborative. She sought permission to rent the space for three (3) years at no cost. Julie moved, Gary Seconded a motion to support the proposal. The vote was unanimous

Correspondence
(No action)
Selectmen discussed a commercial scallop permit application submitted by Faith Vanderhoop. No action was taken as the Board had no recommendation from the Shellfish Committee.

There was a discussion of the clogged line that feeds the water spout at Cooks Spring. No action was taken

Meeting was adjourned at 10:07 a.m.
