MEETING
May 29, 2019
MINUTES

Attendance: Gary Haley, Not in attendance: Jim Newman (doctor’s appointment) and Juli Vanderhoop (off-island)

At 9:03, there not being a quorum present, Gary Haley continued the meeting until 4:00 p.m.

At 4:03 p.m. the meeting was called to order by Juli Vanderhoop with Jim Newman and Gary Haley also in attendance. Brian Vanderhoop also was in attendance. Jeff Madison (Town Administrator).

There were no minutes presented for approval.

Town Meeting Warrant
(Warrant approved for meeting on June 17, 2019)
Three articles were discussed that included Article 1: Use of E&D funds by the Regional School Committee; 2. Raise and appropriate Town’s share of sheriff’s communications center budget; and 3. Use of Waterways money to fund a shack for the Shellfish Warden/Harbormaster at West Basin. Jim moved and Gary seconded a motion to approve the warrant as presented. The motion was approved unanimously.

Board of Assessor Appointments
(Discussion deferred)
Selectmen were informed by the Town Administrator of two persons so far who have expressed interest (Kayla Manning Darcy and Elise LeBovit). There were others who are considering appointment. It was agreed to defer discussion/appointments until the June 4 meeting.

Correspondence
Selectmen reviewed an email wherein Len Butler requested, on behalf of the Lighthouse Advisory Board that the telephone pole guardrail at Aquinnah Circle be completed at the alternate price by Bartlett Consolidated, Inc. At their meeting they had concerns about the orange cones presently in place. The Selectmen agreed with Len’s suggestion.

Selectmen reviewed an email received from Kayla Darcy re: willingness to serve on the board of Assessors.

Selectmen accepted the resignation of Adam Wilson effective July 1, 2019.

Meeting was adjourned at 4:15 p.m.
