MINUTES

Attendance: Gary Haley, Jim Newman, Jeff Madison (Town Administrator); Absent: Juli Vanderhoop,
Noli Taylor, Allen Rugg, Gabi Camilleri, Bill Lake, Randhi Belain, Kathie Olsen, Kathy Newman, Evan Melillo, Liz Argo

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Haley at 3:00 p.m.

GREEN COMMUNITIES
Bill Lake introduced Nick Connors, from the state Green Communities agency who gave a slide presentation on behalf of the Energy & Climate Committee. Mr. Connors provided a handout to be passed out at the Annual Town Meeting. The handout and presentation answered many frequently asked questions related to Green Communities and the proposed Stretch Code by-law. It was pointed out that both Tisbury and West Tisbury had completed their requirements for certification as Green Communities. There are 5 steps required that include: 1. Designate a limited site in town that is available for renewable energy; 2. Promise expedited permitting responses for renewable energy projects at the designated site; 3. Establish a baseline for energy use at town buildings and set a 5-year target for good faith efforts to achieve a 20% reduction; 4. Agree to buy fuel-efficient municipal vehicles; and, 5. Adopt the Massachusetts Stretch Building Code for energy efficiency.

CVEC PRESENTATION
Evan Melillo and Liz Argo from the Cape and Vineyard Electric Cooperative (CVEC) made a presentation on electric vehicles and charging stations to be located in town. They provided a brochure outlining the services offered by CVEC that include submitting applications for charging stations around town, procuring charging stations of choice, procurement of electric vehicles of choice, securing equipment installer, submitting an application for Eversource Make-ready infrastructure preparation program at a cost of $200/car and $400/station. Evan and Liz brought a Chevy Volt that they demonstrated for the Selectmen.
