Minutes – Selectmen’s Meeting (Special) – September 12, 2017
Meeting was called to order by Chairman Newman at 4:05 p.m.. in the meeting room by Chairman Newman. Attending the meeting were Gary Haley, Jim Newman (Chairman) and Juli Vanderhoop. Elise Lebovit (Board of Assessors), and Paul Manning.
The meeting having been called mainly for the purpose of improvement of communication between the Board of Selectmen and Assessors took a really informal turn as the only person in attendance representing the assessors was Elise. There was a short discussion of the existing internet connection not containing sufficient bandwidth for the Assessors to complete their tasks. It was pointed out that sufficient bandwidth could be obtained within the currently configured and installed internet account for approximately $25/month. This would increase the bandwidth from current 16mps to at least 75 mps. Elise indicated that the Assessors wanted to install their own dedicated server with 75 mps. Elise asked when the install would take place and was told that it would be upgraded as soon as possible. After discussion, Elise seemed to indicate that provided the upgrade was done soon, she would be okay with not installing the dedicated service.
Selectman Vanderhoop indicated that she would like to set up a meeting with the Town of Chilmark to discuss the scheduled dredge project and Board of Health issues.
Selectman Vanderhoop also raised the issue of an apparent demolition of a small house on the shore of Menemsha Pond. No action was taken.
Meeting was adjourned at 4:20 p.m.
