The Aquinnah Cultural Center is hosting a very special guest speaker on Friday, August 4, 2017 at 5:00 PM.
Elizabeth Hoover, Mohawk, Manning Professor of American Studies at Brown University will present "Garden Warriors: Indigenous People and the Local Food Movement".
Many Indigenous people are looking to their traditional foods and diets for medicinal and health reasons, as well as sustainable living. Native farmers have utilized methods of planting, growing, propagation, harvesting etc., that have centuries of proof of how well the methods work for the people and for the earth. Please join us for this special presentation to learn all that is happening today in "Indian Country" with the local food movement.
